Once you open your savings account,
you can add money to it whenever you want. The money you add to your account is
called a deposit. When you want to add money to your account, you fill out a deposit
slip. The deposit slip tells the bank how much money to add.

Give the deposit slip, your bankbook, and your money to the bank teller. The bank teller
is the person who works behind the big desk. She’ll add the money to your account.
Look at your bankbook when the teller gives it back to you. She adds your new deposit
to the money that was already in your account. The total of all your money is called a
balance.
